China's Hub Motor Industry
On July 9th, 2012, Energy-saving and New Energy Vehicle Development Plan (2011-2020) was released. According to this plan, Chinas total production and sales volume of purely electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles will try to reach 500,000 units in 2015; the production capacity of these two kinds of automobiles will try to reaches 2 million units and the cumulative production and sales over 5 million units in 2020. The rapid development of electric vehicles will drive the demand for the hub motor.
In the so many electric-driven systems of the electric vehicle industry, the key point and hot spot for the worlds electric field is using integrated system which was combined by external rotor hub motor and inner rotor motor as the power. With the advent of more compact planetary gear reducer, the inner rotor hub motor has more competitiveness than the low-speed external rotor hub motor in term of power density.
