China's Solar Glass Market
Internationally, Saint-Gobain Group, Asahi Glass, Pilkington and PPG are
the market leaders. However, due to technology improving and demand
increasing, the number of Chinas enterprises which engaged in
ultra-white rolled glass production was increased. They should not only
meet the needs of domestic PV module factories, but also the exported
products.
Currently, China has more than ten manufacturers which own the relatively mature technology, including Flat Solar Glass, Xinyi Glass, Shenzhen CSG Group and so on. The market share of these enterprises accounts for more than a half of the total market share. According to our preliminary statistics, until to the March of 2011, the total number of domestic PV glass production lines is 41, daily melting capacity is 8,000 tons, equivalent to the annual production of about 135.6 million
